Police CCTV appeal after man attacked in Birmingham city centre robbery

Police have issued a CCTV image of a man officers would like to identify after a man was beaten in a vicious robbery in Birmingham city centre. The victim was attacked on Hurst Street, near St John’s Walk, at around 3.30am on Saturday, November 30.

His attacker stole his wallet from his pocket following the assault. The victim’s bank card was then used in a shop nearby.

The CCTV image, released by West Midlands Police today, Tuesday, January 14, showed a man in a black hoody. He was pictured wearing a grey rucksack.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Recognise this man? We’re looking to speak to him following a robbery in Birmingham city centre. It happened at 3.30am on 30 November on Hurst Street, near St John’s Walk. A man was hit, before having his pockets searched and his wallet stolen.

“The victim’s bank card was used in a shop nearby not long afterwards. If you recognise this man, or were in the area around the time this happened, get in touch via 101 or Live Chat quoting crime number 20/984763/24.”
