Police have launched an investigation following a suspected stabbing in Tameside, the Manchester Evening News understands. Officers were seen in attendance in Dukinfield on Wednesday evening (January 16).
The M.E.N. understands emergency services responded to reports of a stabbing. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a large police presence in Dukinfield at around 5pm on Wednesday.
Investigations appeared to be focused on Church Street, near to the chip shop, and outside Ravensfield Primary School, at the junction with Clarendon Street.
Officers were seen carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area on Wednesday evening.
In a message posted online, seen by the M.E.N., parents of Ravensfield pupils were informed of an ‘incident outside of school’.
The message added that ‘all children’ at the school were ‘safe’.

Further details about the incident and those involved are yet to be confirmed. It’s understood that police have since left the scene.
