Police launch appeal following serious assault in Scots town as three arrested

Police have launched an appeal for information following a serious assault and disturbance in Castle Douglas.

Authorities were called to a property on Wallace Court, around 11.30pm on Thursday, 2 January, 2025.

A 38-year-old man was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment to what were described as serious injuries.

Three men aged 29, 39, 49 have been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Scott Wilson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone with any information, who has not already spoken to police, to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone with dash-cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to contact us.”
