A driver was stopped by police after officers saw he had no headlights on in the dark. The Volkswagen Golf was pulled over by police in the the West Midlands.
Officers on patrol had spotted the car driving around Walsall on Friday, January 10, and pulled the driver over. Officers then made him carry out a breath test for alcohol at the roadside and he gave a ‘staggering’ score of 137, police say.
The legal limit for drink driving in England is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 milliliters of breath, meaning this motorist was almost four times (3.9 times) over the legal limit. His car was subsequently seized and the driver arrested.
