Police urge victim of alleged sexual assault at New Street Station to come forward

Detectives are appealing to a woman was who allegedly sexually assaulted at Birmingham New Street Station to contact them. The victim was approached at 3.10pm on November 27, by a man who is then said to have exposed himself.

He then allegedly assaulted her before she left the scene. The incident was witnessed by several people and the man was arrested.

He has since been charged. The British Transport Police is now appealing to the victim to contact them.

BTP said in a statement: “Detectives investigating two sexual offences on the railway are today appealing for a victim to come forward. At around 3.10pm on 27 November, a man approached a woman at Birmingham New Street railway station, exposed his genitals.

“He then sexually assaulted the victim, who then left the area. Witnesses reported the incident and a man has been arrested and charged in connection.

“Detectives are now appealing for the woman to come forward. If this is you, or you know who it is, please get in touch with British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 405040 quoting reference 382 of 27 November.”
