Road rage incident sparked violent armed brawl in Walsall street

Two men were attacked with baseball bats following a road rage incident in Walsall, police have said. Footage of the ordeal was widely shared on social media following the unrest on Tuesday, January 7, just before 5pm.

The video clip shows two men on the floor while another two traded blows nearby. A sixth man is seen running over to the two men on the ground, as one appears to say: “Get off him, get off him, get off of me”.

One man appears to take an item off one of the men on the ground and starts hitting him with it. The downed man then begins crying out, and the sound of clanking metal can also be heard.

Two men were taken to hospital following the West Bromwich Road incident with injuries not believed to be serious. West Midlands Police are now appealing to the public to come forward with any information which could help their investigation.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We’re investigating after two men were attacked by a group of men with baseball bats in Walsall. The men were attacked on West Bromwich Street at around 4.45pm yesterday (Tuesday).

“They were both taken to hospital, although thankfully they were not seriously injured. We believe the attack was carried out following a road rage incident.”
