A twisted ‘Eunuch Maker’ offered desperate men up to £25k to lop off their genitals with knives, and live-streamed the footage to thousands.
Marius Gustavson kitted himself out with instruments designed for farm animals to carry out his barbaric snips in rented hotel rooms and dingy London apartments. But his vile acts weren’t for his own sexual gratification, as he would share the videos with an online community he headed up, which had 22,000 subscribers. The chilling story of the Norwegian, who was jailed in May 2024, is the focus of a fresh documentary airing on Crime+Investigation on Monday.
Investigator Marcel Theroux looks into the life of the once quite boy from a rural who became the ringleader of a subculture fascinated by mutilation.

Marius and his online army were obsessed with severing genitals, trading body parts, and even eating them. And by feeding this fetish, Marius was able to pocket hundreds of thousands of pounds in the process.
Yet despite his vile crimes, to many, Marius, who referred to himself as The Eunuch Maker, was a hero who freed them to become their true selves.
All had felt as if they had consented to what Marius would do to them. Many even have no regrets about their castration. But some came to realise how he had sucked them into his sick world, and paid the price.
“That website made it feel normal. I still thought I was in control,” said one victim, Michael. “He then went to his wardrobe and brought out the clamps. That was the moment I knew I’d screwed up.”

Despite being handed a life sentence, Marius shows no remorse for his actions. In the documentary, Theroux visited him off-camera in Wandsworth Prison shortly after his guilty plea.
Marius disclosed that at 14, he became captivated by an image in a book of an Indian eunuch with their genitals completely removed. “That’s who I am,” he told Theroux.
In 2012, following the collapse of his marriage, Marius left Norway for London, immersing himself in a subculture of individuals obsessed with becoming a “nullo” – short for genital nullification.
He soon established his website, The Eunuch Maker.com, an online platform where users could create profiles detailing their desires, share photos and videos, and purchase amputated organs.

With his online reputation growing, he finally had his own penis removed in 2017. Audio recordings played during his sentencing captured instances when castrations had gone awry, forcing him to call for ambulances while insisting it was merely an accident.
Photos of Marius posing with a severed penis and placing it in his mouth were also displayed. Other acts of mutilation were performed with kitchen knives, with the amputated genitals stored in the fridge for sale.
One victim, Michael, said he was in a bad place when he met Marius, and was against the idea of castration. The pair had engaged in bondage and torture, and over time Michael admitted to slowly being warped into the idea of castration.
Marius told him he could earn up to £7,000 for testicle removal, and as much as £25,000 for removal of his member.

Michael went ahead with a procedure that cut the blood supply off to his testicles and essentially killed them. But it was when he was due for a separate procedure to have his dead testicles removed he realised the terrible mistake he made and was persuaded to go to the police.
In 2021 a raid by authorities uncovered hours of grim footage dating back seven years. But while Marius did put pressure on his victims to undergo castration, many hold zero regrets about what they went through.
One anonymous man who spoke to Theroux told of how for a long time he had struggled with his sexuality, harbouring a deep desire to rid himself of his testicles.
“He never did anything against my will, but he did put pressure on me,” he said.

“I remember him saying, ‘If we don’t do this, you’ll be really disappointed. You were born to do this.’”
Marius himself had earned over £300,000 from his website. He was charged with multiple counts of grievous bodily harm, possession of extreme pornography, and for making an indecent image of a child.
The court sentenced him to life in prison, to serve a minimum of 22 years. The botched surgeries almost resulted in the deaths of three men, with the judge characterising his actions as nothing short of human butchery.
