Residents in St Ives are “petrified” following reports of a man causing criminal damage and other offences in the local area. Police posted on social media to launch a public appeal for witnesses following incidents concerning the man.
Local people took to the comment section on the Facebook post to express their concern around the situation. Some are worried about walking to the local supermarket alone while another reported that they “kept looking behind” while walking with their daughter.
One person said: “I honestly just felt petrified just leaving mine from Parc An Creet down to my mum’s near the Co-op. Walking with my daughter. I kept looking behind me. This isn’t right surely!???
A second agreed: “Same, I have to walk past the flats on my own and now really nervous walking past in case he appears.” A third wrote: “I only heard of this yesterday so now I’m nervous as I walk alone a lot!”
Another resident said: “I’ve been having Co-op deliver as I’m a tad scared to go down there.” A fifth commented: “Every time he’s out and about my daughter is scared to walk to the Local Coop.”
Hayle and St Ives Police said in an appeal: “The Police are appealing for witnesses in the St Ives area following incidents concerning a male causing issues of possible criminal damage and other offences.
