Visitor attraction Gladstone Pottery Museum has opened early for 2025 – to celebrate Stoke-on-Trent’s centenary. The Longton venue had been expected to remain shut – except for special events – until March.
But it reopened from Thursday, January 2. It comes as The Great Pottery Throw Down – which is filmed at Gladstone Pottery Museum – returns to our TV screens on Sunday, January 5.
It was back in 1975 when Gladstone Pottery Museum first opened to the public.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council leader Jane Ashworth said: “Gladstone Pottery Museum is a real gem in our city’s cultural heritage. It’s a much-loved, award-winning visitor attraction and heritage site that welcomes around 3,000 visitors a month.
“The early opening in 2025 is a fantastic way to celebrate both our centenary and the museum’s 50th anniversary. The museum attracts visitors from across the globe and it’s great that we’re able to offer extended access during this special year. If you’ve never been before, why not make the time in 2025 to come out and support our local attractions and see what’s on offer.”
