A 17-year-old is set to appear at court today charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The young male – who cannot be named for legal reasons – was arrested by officers following an incident on Mutley Plain at around 8.45am on Monday, January 6.
A man was allegedly attacked by the teen brandishing a hammer shortly after a bus pulled up at the stop. The man is understood to have suffered head injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment.
The 17-year-old was later arrested by police and taken to Charles Cross police station custody suite where he was interviewed.
He was later charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and one count of possession of an offensive weapon, namely a hammer.
The teen was remanded into custody and is set to appear at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court today.
