A teenager was attacked, a group of boys threatened and two BB-guns seized as firearms cops were sent to a North Staffordshire neighbourhood. Now an investigation in the Kidsgrove disorder continues after a 16-year-old boy was also arrested.
Staffordshire Police say cops were sent to Warwick Close at 7.15pm on Saturday ‘following reports of public order offences and an assault’. A suspect is said to have used a BB-gun to issue threats to a small number of boys in the neighbourhood.
In addition officers found a 16-year-old boy had been assaulted on the green off Gloucester Road. The force says his injuries were not deemed serious.
A force spokesman said: “Firearms officers were deployed to the scene and two BB-guns were recovered from an address.”
Meanwhile a 16-year-old boy, of Newcastle, was arrested on suspicion of violence against the person.
The spokesman added: “He has since been placed on conditional police bail while inquiries continue. Anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage should contact us.”
