The Birmingham houses that just won’t budge – unwanted homes that have been on sale for years

In a city with a bustling property market, where new homes are being built every day, some houses seem immune to the buzz. That’s because these Birmingham properties have been languishing on the market for years, unable to attract the right buyer.

Whether it’s their unique features, location, or simply bad luck, these homes have been left on the shelf. The majority of homes on the list are flats in apartment blocks across the city – including many popular developments.

However, there are also some terraced properties which, for one reason or another, just won’t sell. Here are seven listed properties on Rightmove which sellers just can’t shift.

Two-bed flat on Bell Barn Road

The property boasts ‘luxurious finishes throughout, spacious layouts and breathtaking views.’ The Metro tramline is right on your doorstep, and the building includes an on-site gym and shared open space. The property is on the market for £200,000 and was uploaded to Rightmove on July 10, 2020.

One-bed flat on Warwick Street

One-bed flat on Wrentham Street

This five bedroom terraced property is located in Sparkhill and has been on the market since July 22, 2022. The house has three reception rooms and a private garden to the rear. The property has lots of potential for families or investors due to its size and layout.” The property is on the market for £400,000.

Three-bed terraced house on Churchill Road, Handsworth

This three-bedroom home in Handsworth has been on the market since August 17, 2022. It has three bedrooms and three reception rooms and is on the market for £290,000.
