The fed up locals who became pothole artists – from Pot Noodle filler to lewd graffiti

Brits have woken up to a day of begrudging celebration as they welcome in a new motoring ‘holiday’ – National Pothole Day.

January 15 marks the big occasion which sees drivers acknowledge the bane of commuters lives, potholes. These are common sights on roads, with experts Admiral Motor Insurance revealing potholes claims have risen by 62% in the last two years. In fact, data shows pothole-related claims have tripled (175%) since 2016. But the issue remains that the vast majority of these drivers (83%, in fact) are currently paying for damage caused by potholes out of their own pockets.

Adding to this, Quotezone.co.uk reveals 92% of drivers feel potholes in their local area are getting worse. But many savvy residents have taken matters into their own hands after they claim the council aren’t doing enough to fix the “growing” issue.
