The two West Midlands fish and chip shops named among the best in the UK

Two West Midlands chip shops have been named among the best in the United Kingdom. A Herefordshire and Worcestershire chip shop are the only takeaways in the region to be included on the prestigious list.

Each year, Fry Magazine publishes a definitive list of the best fish and chips across the country. This year’s 50 Best Fish & Chip Takeaways is no exception.

The list is out and it’s another year where a Birmingham chippy has failed to make the cut. But one fish and chip shop has remained on there for another year and is one of only two West Midlands takeaways to make the Top 50.

The chip shop has been a staple of the Herefordshire community since the early 1970s and has been under the current ownership of Dominic Eusden and partner Linzi Morris since 2013. As well as serving fish, the chip shop sells vegetarian and vegan alternatives.

And Stefan Hutchinson said: “We had seen that Fiddlers Elbow was classed as the best Fish & Chips in Herefordshire, so we had to try them. Even if it was an hour’s drive.

“We weren’t disappointed. The food was very tasty and served fresh and hot and the staff were very helpful and engaging, Once we got our food we took a very short stroll to eat by the river. All in all, a lovely time was had by all and it was well worth the drive.”
