A man and two teenagers have been charged after a youth was injured when violence flared at a Black Country shopping centre. A 17-year-old boy sustained wounds to his head and body when he was allegedly attacked at the West Cross Shopping Centre, Oldbury Road, last Thursday evening (January 2).
The victim was taken to hospital and his injuries were thankfully not life-threatening. Following enquiries, West Midlands Police charged two 17-year-old boys – who can’t be named due to their ages – and a 22-year-old man with wounding.
One boy appeared at Walsall Magistrates’ Court yesterday (January 7). Mohammed Yousaf from Oldbury and the other teenager – who have both also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon – were remanded to appear before the same magistrates court on Wednesday (Jan 8).
Three men – aged 18, 20 and 44 – have today also been arrested on suspicion of wounding. They remain in custody for questioning.
Two others – aged 17 and 19 – were previously arrested in connection with the incident and have been bailed with conditions. Police are still appealing for information and anyone with information should contact them via Live Chat on our website, or by calling 101, and quote 20/101827/25.
