This is the moment a group of thugs turn on a Good Samaritan and attack him with glass bottles after he waded into a gang attack on one of Scotland’s busiest streets.
Violence erupted in Sauchiehall Street, in Glasgow, on Tuesday night. The footage shows members of a group at least seven-strong laying into a boy as he lies on the ground.

Four different people are seen to strike the victim, before man wearing grey shorts and a blue hoodie rushes to his aid, running into the group and raining blows on the boy’s attackers.
But members of the group then turn on him, with two yobs appearing to hit him with glass bottles as he strikes one of their friends. One of the attackers appears to use a bottle of Buckfast as his weapon of choice.

Glass can be heard smashing in the footage, while members of the public and other young people look on in horror at the violence. A female bystander can also be seen clutching a bottle of Buckfast.
The incident took place outside the McDonald’s branch on the street, which sits opposite the Route One clothing shop, and an empty site which is blocked by boards.
