Gardaí have stood down the search for Joe Noonan, 62, following the discovery of a body.
Mr Noonan was reported missing from his home in Killmallock yesterday, having last been seen in the Granagh area in the early hours of Tuesday morning. His family were concerned for his wellbeing and it was believed that he might have been travelling to Croom.
A Garda spokesperson this afternoon confirmed: “Following the discovery of a man’s body, the missing person appeal for Joe Noonan (62) who was reported missing from his home in Kilmallock, Co. Limerick on Wednesday, 8th January 2025 has been stood down.
“No further media action is required and no further information is available at this time.
“We would like to thank the public and media for their assistance.”
In Cork an appeal for Timothy Murphy (43) from Ballyvolane is still active nearly 10 months after he was reported missing on March 21, 2024. He is known to frequent Cork City regularly and is 5ft 10 inches in height with a medium build, blue eyes and shoulder-length brown/grey hair.
A Garda spokesperson said: “The Gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Timothy Murphy (43), who was reported missing from Ballyvolane, Cork, on March 21 2024. Timothy, who frequents Cork City regularly, is 5ft 10 inches in height with a medium build, blue eyes, and shoulder-length brown/grey hair. He may also have connections to the Corofin area of Galway.”
