Tributes have been paid to a Port Glasgow dad who will be remembered today as family and friends gather to say their goodbyes.
Scott McFadden was a passenger in a Volkswagen Golf that struck an unoccupied Peugeot on Clune Brae in Port Glasgow at around 9.55pm on Monday, December 16.
Emergency services rushed to the incident, however, the 38-year-old was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A 50-year-old woman was arrested in connection and later released pending further enquiries.
Scott has been remembered as a beloved “son, husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many”. Well wishes have poured in for his heartbroken loved ones who will say their goodbyes today, January 8, at Greenock Crematorium with all who knew Scott welcome to pay their respects.
A GoFundMe was set up following Scott’s tragic death with £3,130 raised to help pay for the funeral expenses. Thanking supporters on the page, Scott’s sister Fiona wrote: “I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to everyone for your kind donations it means the world to my family and me.”
Posting to Facebook, Scott’s cousin Sophie said his loss will be “heartbreaking for everyone who knew him”.
The dad-of-two has been described as a “brilliant guy” with hundreds of well-wishes sent to his wife Claire and their two young sons. One wrote: “So so sorry for your loss. What a cruel world it is”, another added: “My heart is broken for you and your beautiful boys. Shine bright Scott, G.B.N.F”.
