Two cars recovered just days after being stolen from same property in Coventry

Police have recovered two cars stolen from the same property in Coventry. Both had been taken from an address on Thimbler Road in Canley.

Officers found the Vauxhall Astra and VW Passat on Donegal Close and Skylark Street. Residents are believed to have tipped them off about where the vehicles had been dumped.

Cops recovered the Astra and Passat and will be returning them to their rightful owners, Coventry Police said. Officers are yet to arrest the people behind the vehicle thefts, with enquiries believed to be ongoing.

A spokesman for Coventry Police said: “Officers have been responding to reports of stolen cars in Coventry. Two vehicles stolen from the same property on Thimbler Road have been found and recovered from Donegal Close and Skylark Street.

“We treat all lost or stolen vehicles we find as abandoned vehicles and remove them to protect the vehicle from damage, arson, or theft, prevent the vehicle from being used in a crime or anti-social behaviour and make sure it is not an obstruction or danger to other road users.”
