A two month long ‘no waiting ban’ is set to come into force on a road in Coventry. The city council plans to put a temporary traffic order on Sherwood Jones Close.
It would prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading along the entire length of the road. It is due to come into force at just after midnight on Monday, January 13 and last until 5pm on Monday, March 16.
This, according to the allow, is to allow ‘the safe movement and delivery of construction materials’ along the highway. It is known that that planning permission has been granted to knock down the historic but crumbling St Nicholas’ Church for a new 38-bed care home.

The council traffic order, which has been published online, states that the specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site. But it adds that there will be some exemptions:
- Anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
- Emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order
- Any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works
It adds that any vehicle waiting in contravention of the traffic order may be removed. For more information in connection with this notice contact Network Management on 07535 656 389.
