Valuable sculpture by famous artist stolen from home on Cambridgeshire border

A sculpture with a sale price of £60,000 has been stolen from the artist’s home on the Cambridgeshire border. The bronze sculpture was stolen from the Saffron Walden home of Anne Curry overnight between December 5 and 6, 2024.

The sculpture has a manufacturing value of £20,000 and is signed by the artist. It was stolen from her home in Arkesden.

Essex Police said no arrests have been made yet. The force is pursuing several “targeted lines of enquiry”.

PC Glenn Simons, who is investigating the theft, said: “I do not underestimate the impact this theft has had on the victim, and we will work determinedly to pursue all reasonable lines of enquiry. I would also urge anyone who may have information about any suspicious vehicles or suspicious behaviour in the Arkesden area on the evening of Thursday 5 December and the early hours of Friday 6 December to please come forward.”
