A van containing “highly toxic” veterinary drugs was stolen from outside a church. Merseyside Police said they are investigating after the grey coloured Volkswagen Transporter, with a 73 plate, was stolen outside St Peter’s Church on Church Road in Woolton between 8am and 8.50am on Sunday, January 12.
A quantity of veterinary drugs including Somulose, which is used for euthanasia of dogs, cats, horses and cattle, was inside the vehicle. This a potent drug which is “highly toxic” to people, according to medical reports.
Merseyside Police said CCTV and witness enquiries to trace the van remain ongoing. Anyone who finds this medication or any other prescription drugs is warned not to consume them and instead hand them into their nearest police station immediately or call 101, police said.
