Three people have been rescued from the Cairngorms as the national park continues to be battered by snow and ice.
Cairngorms Mountain Rescue Team (CMRT) were called out to two simultaneous rescues late on Tuesday night (January 7) amid a severe weather warning.
Dramatic footage shows the rescue team battling through a snowstorm both on roads and by foot as they push through the – at times waist-deep – snow.
The first was for a climber who had sustained a deep cut to their lower leg after catching it with their crampon, with the climber located on the west side of spot height 1141.
The casualty was rewarmed and given treatment to the wound before being helped back to the ski area through deep snow in poor visibility.
Large parts of the Cairngorms were covered by a yellow weather warning on Tuesday, with the Met Office warning of heavy snowfall on higher ground as well as freezing temperatures.
The second rescue was for a couple who intended to camp near the Saddle but in deteriorating condition had raised an SOS message from their phone.
After locating the couple and some rewarming they were walked out to safety through some arduous underfoot conditions.
