Six teenage boys have been arrested after a suspected robbery at an Apple Store in Brent Cross. A video shared on X by shows hooded teenagers fighting off security and rushing into the shop to steal phones and other tech equipment at 2.30pm this afternoon (Sunday, January 5).
Terrified customers flee from the scene out of the front entrance into Brent Cross Shopping Centre while the group ransack the shop. Security staff were unable to stop the theft, although in the video one appears to save a phone dropped by one of the thieves on the way out by sliding it away from a member of the gang with his foot.
A man is seen in the clip kicking one of the hooded teens as he leaves the shop. There appear to be nine in the group on the video. The six arrested were all on suspicion of robbery and were aged between 14 and 18. They are now in custody and being questioned.
The video taken by X user Christina Anagnosti is captioned: “Just now in Brent Cross – London”. She told MyLondon it was filmed at 2.30pm today from what appears to be the floor above, with a direct view into the glass-fronted Apple Store.
The Metropolitan Police have issued a statement about the theft. A spokesperson said: “Six teenage boys have been arrested following a theft from a shop in Barnet after police arrived quickly at the scene.
