West Lothian prowler targets homes and cars as police launch major manhunt

A police search has been launched for a West Lothian man who was allegedly trying house and car door handles in the early hours of the morning.

Officers said the incidents took place between the hours of 1.48am and 1.58am on Monday January 13 on Drumshorelands Road and James Young Avenue in Pumpherston.

The man has been described as white with a medium build, wearing a dark grey hooded top with a large icon on the front of this, wearing a woolly hat and light grey joggers and light coloured trainers.

Residents have been informed to be mindful of securing their homes and vehicles.

A spokesperson for West Lothian Police said: “Between – 1:48 am and 1:58am Monday January 13 2025, a male has been trying house door handles and car doors within Drumshoreland Road and James Young Avenue, Pumpherston.

“The white male is medium build, wearing a dark grey hooded top with a large icon on the front of this, wearing a woolly hat and light grey joggers and light coloured trainers.
