An arrest was made after two passengers were “verbally abusive” at passport control. Officers were called to Liverpool John Lennon Airport at around 10.40pm on Saturday, January 11 following a disturbance.
It was reported two passengers were being verbally aggressive to Border Force officers while going through passport control. A 49-year-old woman from Walton was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.
While being taken into custody it was reported homophobic comments were made, and she was further arrested on suspicion of two counts of using threatening/abusive/ insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm/distress. She has been released under investigation pending further enquires being carried out.
