A woman has died following a fatal crash on the Essex border on New Year’s Eve. Police have appealed for witnesses following the incident in Enfield on December 31.
The Met Police were called at about 12.45pm to reports of a crash between a black Peugeot 208 and a female pedestrian on Argon Road at the junction with Albany Road, N18.
Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. Despite their efforts, the 58-year-old woman died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and continue to be supported by specialist officers.

A spokesman for the Met said: “The driver of the car, a woman in her 20s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. She has been bailed pending further enquiries.
“Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating. They would like to speak with anyone who saw the collision or captured it on dash cam.”
