A woman was left terrified after her home was targeted and her windows were smashed on Christmas Day. In a case of suspected mistaken identity, all the ground floor windows to the woman’s home were smashed while she was inside.
The incident happened around 10.15pm on Christmas Day, December 25, at a property along Podsmead Place in Gloucester. Luckily, she was uninjured but she was left badly shaken up by the incident.
The victim, a woman in her 70s, has been left terrified following the incident. Police are now appealing for anyone to come forward with information or CCTV footage which may assist investigating officers.
In a statement, Gloucestershire Police said: “Windows of a house belonging to a woman in her 70s were smashed on Christmas Day in a suspected case of mistaken identity.
“Police are appealing for information after all the ground floor windows of the property in Podsmead Place, Gloucester, were broken while the owner was inside. The incident happened shortly after 10.15pm. The woman was left uninjured but terrified by the ordeal.
“It is believed the suspects targeted the house in a case of mistaken identity. Officers are now appealing for anyone who has information about the incident to come forward. They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage which they believe to be relevant.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police using the form online, quoting incident 280 of 25 December.”
