A woman previously charged with attempted murder will be sentenced this year following a stab attack.
Janette Price, 69, appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court, in Middlesbrough, where she pleaded guilty to wounding with intent following reports of a stabbing in Redcar on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
Last year, Cleveland Police confirmed a 63-year-old woman suffered injuries in the incident but was recovering. During Monday’s short hearing, Judge Jonathan Carroll said Price will be sentenced in March and ordered a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Addressing the defendant, he said: “I’ve directed that there be a full pre-sentence report about you. You will be sentenced on the 7th of March this year and between now and then you are remanded in custody.”
Price, of Lincoln Road, Redcar, thanked Judge Carroll as she was led down to the cells. The charge of attempted murder has been dropped.
